Agriculture is the science and art of cultivating plants and livestock. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization. The history of agriculture began thousands of years ago. Agriculture provides most of the world’s food and fabrics. It is the largest employment sector in Bangladesh and worldwide. The performance of this sector has an overwhelming impact on major macroeconomic objectives like employment generation, poverty alleviation, human resources development, food security etc. Our curriculum provides broad exposure in Agricultural science including agronomy, soil science, horticulture, agricultural botany, agricultural biotechnology, entomology, plant pathology, plant breeding, agricultural extension, agricultural statistics, post-harvest operation and environmental science. There is a plenty of job opportunities in government and non-government sectors, including Bangladesh civil service, research organizations, different banks and agro-based companies etc.
